Clouds on Robins Island

Matthew A Frohling

Growing up, I spent the summers on the South Fork of Long Island where the afternoon light in the summer is gold, shadows are long and the sky expansive. Work took me to Hong Kong for eight years and included a safari in South Africa.  Two friends who are professional photographers encouraged me to pursue my hobby and hone my processing skills.

Hong Kong presents itself as a cacophony of sights, sounds and smells - a mashup and beckoned to be captured. During this time I also became friends with and found a mentor, the late Michael Wolf, a renowned photographer who captured what is often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of daily life. Michael's work, method and studio deeply inspired me to pick up my camera and get serious viewing life with a new lens.

My collection here includes images from Hong Kong, the Hamptons and my favorite summer muse - the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club clubhouse.  Most images shot with Nikon D750 and available for sale in limited quantities.  I prefer chromogenic prints.
